The Tunisian bank of solidarity BTS was creates in 1997 on initiative of Mr. President of the Republic Zine El Abidine Ben Ali. This banking institution of microphone-financing, first in its kind in Tunisia, constitutes a mechanism flexible and adapted to facilitate the access of the credit to the small promoters (graduate craftsmen, young people etc…) not having of financial means and personal or real guarantees to reach the financing of the banking environment. The appropriations are granted rate interest rate of 5% per annum to the maximum.

The ruling from the Chair concerning the introduction of a new system of microphone-credit granted by associations object of the law n° 99-67 of July 15, 1999 comes to meet certain financial needs necessary to creation for very small economic activities independent or for the improvement of the modest living conditions of the most stripped social categories. 
These appropriations will be used to finance the acquisition of small equipment, intrants necessary to the production and the granting of working capital and this for an amount not exceeding 1000 DT, or to finance the needs aiming at the improvement for the living conditions for a maximum amount of 300 DT.
